About Velvet Draw
Velvet Draw is single-hand draw poker, dealt from a fresh 52-card deck every hand. You see five cards, choose which to hold, and replace the rest once. The final hand is scored against the table below.
The lowest hand that scores is a pair of jacks or better, which returns the stake. A pair of tens or lower does not score. Two pair returns twice the stake, and the table climbs from there up to a royal flush.
Because you choose which cards to hold, this is the one game in the library where decisions change the long-run result. The guide on reading a pay table explains the common holds.
